It's President's Day Bitches

This is my favorite drawing in my sketchbook right now.  Maybe any of my sketchbooks.

Fuck You, Pay Me

Found my watercolors from High School.  Never lost the juvenile sensibility.

February Pole Jam

The folks at Cleveland Exotic Dance were nice enough to let me hang out  and play in my sketchbook during their monthly pole dance workshop.  The plan is to produce some prints in the very near future, so keep an eye out for that.

Leveling Up In My Sketchbook

He come to town, come to save the princess Zelda.

Simpsons Bullies: Process

This week's challenge at the Rust Belt Monster Collective was "secondary characters", and I threw down the Simpsons Bullies, because I love those jerks.  You can see my finished piece here.   Here's some process pages for the real art nerds.
I've always loved the Simpsons style, and to me it's really hard not to see the influence on my work, especially the older comics stuff.  I really wanted to keep as much of the classic look as I could while adding flourishes of the way I draw today.  That usually means, center everything, add some knobby knees and make everything dirtier and more foldy than it needs to be.
Original Pencils.
Wanting a a more honest representation of my style, I really wanted to ink by hand.  I chose digital to  play with my borders a bit more, and to get the practice.
Digital Inks.
Really fun piece for me, and I can't wait to do more old favorites in this style.  In the meantime, I'm offering a print of this over at Society 6, so check that out if ya nasty.

Oh Snap

Fun at life drawing. All this stuff was in the classroom. For serious

Dr Sketchy Cleveland: JakPrints Fest 2011

Drawing Faith last week reminded me that I never posted these from the event that JakPrints hosted last year.  Wearing lab coats in 90 degree weather, drawing pretty ladies, and eating Pho afterwards.  Summers in Cleveland are the best.

Dr Sketchy Cleveland: Faith McFluff As Wonder Woman

I was fortunate enough to draw Faith over the summer at a JakPrints event (drawings to post soon), but I've never drawn Wonder Woman.  Aside from Kirby's work at DC, nothing over there has held my interest long enough to draw it.  Also, until Dr Sketchy came to Cleveland I was afraid to draw pretty ladies.

Really great poses, and as always a blast.  I even got to team up Brave And The Bold style with Ashley Ribblett to throw down the final pose of the night.  Nice to see my pencils not scribbled on with the biggest markers I can find.
